We are so happy that Charles Bearden joined our JISD family this year. Today we would like to recognize Mr. Bearden for National Principals Month. Thank you for all you do!

Governor Abbott announced a 30-day special session beginning October 9 to provide private school subsidies, also known as vouchers or education savings accounts. Public schools are underfunded by billions, and any available funding should be prioritized for teacher raises and to help schools pay the bills. We'll continue sharing updates to keep you informed as the session progresses.

October is Principal Appreciation Month and we have some of the best. Let's start by recognizing JMS Principal, Jackie Hamilton. Thank you for all you do!

JMS Football Roster shirts are available now. You can pick up your roster shirt at any JMS pep rally, in the JMS office, or from Ms. Jorgenson until they run out. Our JHS Cafe staff served over 400 "Legend" burgers today to students and staff. These ladies do an amazing job everyday and make sure everyone is well fed.

Board Meeting Time Change The School Board Meeting on Monday, September 11, will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the JISD Board Room at 750 W Belknap St. This change is due to the Homecoming Bonfire at 8:00 p.m.

We want to send a great big THANK YOU to the Lions Club for providing school supplies for each campus. It is much appreciated by staff and will help support our students in the classroom.

New Student Enrollment for Jacksboro ISD New Student Enrollment for Jacksboro Elementary, Jacksboro Middle, and Jacksboro High School will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 9:00 – 12:00 AM and 1:00 – 4:00 PM at each campus. After July 26, please call the campus office to schedule an enrollment appointment. All new students to JISD must provide a copy of Social Security Card, birth certificate, shot records, proof of residency in Jacksboro ISD.

We received a great question about CTE programs at JISD. In addition to Agriculture courses, JISD offers Family & Consumer Science, Floral Design, Education & Training, Welding, Health Science with IBC (Industry Based Certification) beginning next year and Health Science with a CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) course completing their program. If the bond passes, we do hope to incorporate more programs. Culinary Arts and Meat Science has been discussed if we can provide an appropriate lab.
