Welcome to the Jacksboro High School Counseling Department website.
The counseling office has resources available to students and parents. We have college brochures, information related to careers, scholarship info, financial aid info, and other information for review. We also assist with social-emotional skills and offer a helping hand to students when needed.

PARENTS OF SENIORS
Each fall, I host a meeting specifically for you and your student in SEPTEMBER to present and discuss all aspects of the college/career process. This includes the FAFSA (grants and loans), reviewing timelines, and understanding the differences between a junior college and a university. I will try to answer all of your questions. Here is a link to the SENIOR PACKET, which holds a tremendous amount of information and how-tos on many topics. Your student has access to this document through Google Classroom, and we discuss it regularly when I visit their classes. I encourage every senior to read it thoroughly. And here is a copy of the slides from the fall Senior Parent Meeting with the Counselor.
PARENTS OF JUNIORS
I host a meeting specifically for you and your student each fall in OCTOBER to discuss planning for the next two years: careers, educational needs, and how to best prepare for the choices ahead. Here is a copy of the slides to the fall Junior Parent Meeting with the Counselor.
