JISD Student/Teacher Memorial

The Jacksboro ISD Student/Teacher Memorial Courtyard was dedicated on September 15, 2018.  The Courtyard was originally the Ford Leadership Scholar community service project of 2018 JHS graduate Hunter Hackley.  Mr. Hackley worked tirelessly with mentor Ken Swan, landscape designer Greg Lewis, FFA Advisor Loren Sell, and others in the Jacksboro community to create an area to honor those who have preceded.

The inspiration for the project came from the tragic loss of four JISD students during the 2016-17 school year.  Hunter’s main purpose for building the courtyard: “This memorial stands as a tribute to the legacy left by those who have come through this institution before us”.

The Jacksboro High School Ex-Students’ Association is responsible for the continuing legacy of the Courtyard.  Additional names may be added to the monuments by submitting the form below with payment $300 per name to the JHS Ex- Students’ Association.
