Course Descriptions

Introduction to Graphic Communication Careers:  A cluster course designed to provide a broad basic understanding of career opportunities and training requirements along with introductory skills in four graphic communication-related careers:  graphic communications, advertising design, drafting, and commercial photography. Students also take part in participating in the operation of Tiger Vision.

Grade Placement: 10-12

Technical Introduction to Desktop Publishing (Paw Prints): This course will provide students with an overview of the computers and software packages used for desktop publishing.  Desktop hardware and software studied as they relate to publishing, and graphics.  A study of the operations and use of desktop publishing software packages and how they fit together into the desktop publishing environment and the related industries that use desktop publishing.  Students also take part in participating in the operation of the Paw Prints Printing Company.

Grade Placement:  11-12
