Band Students Honored for District, Region, and State Level Competition
This school year has been a benchmark year in the All District/All Region competition process. A record number of middle school students were awarded status as All District Band Students. They competed against the top middle School students from the entire Texoma area. The students named to this award are Darby Perry-flute, Ashley Inge-flute, Wyatt McNallen-tuba, Zach Montgomery-trombone, Tori Aydelott-clarinet, Rachel Lund-trumpet, Mason Hull-trumpet, and Kayla Silva-alto sax.
Likewise, the following high school students were awarded placement as not only All District students, but All Region Band members as well. This places them as some of the top students in the entire area which is from Denton to Wichita Falls. These students are Chris Clark-French horn, Josh Silveus-trumpet, and Isaac Branch-Trombone.
Finally, JHS is proud to announce that it has a representative to receive the top honor of placement into the Texas All State Band for the first time in many years. Chris Clark recently spent three days in San Antonio at the TMEA music conference as part of the All State Band where he had the opportunity to work under the Director of Bands for Texas Tech University, Dr. McKoin. Placement into this group makes him one of the top 1% of Texas Band students.
The Purple Pride Band looks forward to many more achievements in the future and is grateful to all of these students for their extra hard work and dedication!
