TCEA Members Elect Don Sewell as Area 9 Director

The Texas Computer Education Association announces the election of Don Sewell, Physics Teacher & AV Coordinator in Jacksboro ISD, as Area 9 Director of the association.
Mr. Sewell was elected by a majority of TCEA members and will serve as Area 9 Director for fiscal years 2009-2011. His election was announced in early February 2009 and he will assume the duties of Area 9 Director on April 1, 2009. Mr. Sewell will serve two years as Area Director.
As Director, he will be responsible for TCEA activities and events in TCEA Area 9, which corresponds to Texas ESC Region IX. He will also serve on the TCEA Board of Directors, which, along with other elected officers, governs the association.
Mr. Sewell has served on the Governor’s Council, TAAS passing standards committee, and the TCEA steering committee for three years. He is a charter president for Area 9, a four year TCEA board member and has taught for 36 years. He has taught mathematics, computer science, and science in high school, plus evening computer classes for VRJC.
The Texas Computer Education Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to furthering the integration of technology into curriculum and instruction. It has more than 9,000 members in the state of Texas.
